Can you please tell me what exactly is schizoaffective disorder?
Schizoaffective disorder is a complex mental health disorder which presents with features of schizophrenia (distorted thinking, paranoia, hallucinations) and feature of a mood disorder like mania or depression. The combination of these two disorders can make diagnosis very difficult. Patients have to be seen for many months before a clear-cut diagnosis can be made. The treatment depends on the mood disorder present- ie mania or depression.
