Erythromycin for mycoplasma


Is the antibiotic erythromycin effective for mycoplasma pneumonia?
Yes, erythromycin is the drug of choice for treatment of mycoplasma. It has been around for at least 4 decades and is considered effective and relatively safe. Sometimes it may cause a stomach ache or bloating. Thus, you have to take it food. Mycoplasma is an organism which is a common cause of community pneumonia.
